Ishan Kishan suffered a major blow after being struck by a Jasprit Bumrah delivery during a net session ahead of the Namibia clash on February 12.
India’s in-form batter Ishan Kishan, who has been in excellent touch, looked ominous in the nets before Jasprit Bumrah’s yorker during a training session on Wednesday cut his stint short.
Jasprit Bumrah, who is expected to feature in the Namibia clash on February 12, bowled at full intensity for the second consecutive day. This came as an encouraging sign for the Indian camp after he missed the T20 World Cup opener against the USA.
However, Ishan Kishan was struck by a toe-crushing yorker from Bumrah, which left him visibly unsettled in the nets. After being hit by the delivery, Kishan was seen limping away following the blow. He eventually returned to bat; however, his net session did not last long as he walked back much earlier than scheduled.

Jasprit Bumrah To Play Namibia Clash
There has been no update or official information regarding any possible injury to Kishan from Bumrah’s yorker. It is most likely that Ishan Kishan will play in the Namibia clash. Even if he does not feature, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to play in the Namibia fixture, which is set to serve as preparation for the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in Colombo on Sunday.
“Bumrah is absolutely fine now. He’s doing better. As I said, we still have one more day, so hopefully he’ll be back in the team. If he continues to improve, the team management will take a call, and I think he could be back for the second game,” Tilak Varma said on the eve of the match.
Tilak Varma, on the eve of the Namibia match, provided an important update on Bumrah, saying that he is continuing to improve and that the team management plans to bring him back into the side. Bumrah also took part in catching drills after completing his bowling spell and looked ready to return to India’s playing XI on February 12.
Samson In For Abhishek?
In another update, Sanju Samson, who was left out of India’s first match against the USA, remains on standby for Abhishek Sharma, who was recently hospitalized due to a severe infection. If Abhishek does not recover in time for the Namibia clash, Samson is likely to take the field in his place.
Samson spent quality time in the nets during the training session. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar is fully fit and contributed with both bat and ball in the nets as well.
