LizLaz Claims She Was Offered Money to Target Virat Kohli After Instagram Controversy

German model LizLaz claimed she was offered money to make false allegations against Virat Kohli after the recent Instagram controversy.

The Virat Kohli Instagram controversy has taken another turn after German model and influencer LizLaz claimed that some journalists offered her money to publicly accuse the Indian cricket star and make false allegations against him.

LizLaz unexpectedly entered the spotlight after Kohli’s Instagram account allegedly liked one of her posts, which quickly triggered massive discussion across social media platforms. Speaking to Filmymantra Media, she said several people approached her and encouraged her to speak negatively about Kohli for publicity.

LizLaz refused the offers and said Kohli remains one of her favourite cricketers. She added that she had no reason to damage his reputation for money or online attention. Interestingly, LizLaz joked that reactions differed in both countries. According to her, Indian users searched for “Who is LizLaz?” while German audiences asked, “Who is Virat Kohli?” because cricket lacks popularity there.

“Some journalists even offered me money to say bad things about him (Virat Kohli) and make allegations about things he never did. But why would I do that? I found out because people started calling me. I didn’t even see it in my notifications. I opened Google and there were pages and pages about me. It felt very unreal,” she said.

“In India people were asking, ‘Who is Lizlaz?’ But in Germany, the headlines were asking, ‘Who is Virat Kohli?’ because cricket is not very popular there,” she added.
