After Australian cricketer David Warner was charged by New South Wales Police in a drink-driving case on April 7, Cricket NSW has pledged continued support for the cricketer throughout the legal proceedings.

Warner, who was playing and participating in the Pakistan Super League as captain of Karachi Kings, was later arrested and summoned by authorities to appear in court.

While Cricket New South Wales strongly condemned David Warner’s act, they also extended their support to the Australian veteran. Acknowledging Warner’s arrest due to drunk driving, Cricket New South Wales has offered full support to him during this tough phase, aiming to help him understand the importance of safety measures while driving.

We will support him through the upcoming process and work together on further educating him and all players on the importance of safe driving,” Lee Germon, the CEO at Cricket NSW said in an official statement.

As of now, Warner has been leading Karachi Kings well, with the team securing 3 out of 3 wins in PSL 2026 under his leadership. In the tournament, David Warner has scored 93 runs from his three outings, striking at approximately 140.

Although there has been no official update on whether Warner will continue to take part in the remainder of the tournament in Pakistan, the legal proceedings might require him to appear in Australia.
