PCB Announces 15-Member Pakistan Squad For ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

The Pakistan Cricket Board had announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Salman Ali Agha named captain and several players earning maiden call-ups.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where Pakistan have been placed in Group A and will face the Netherlands in their opening match on February 7 in Colombo.

The squad was unveiled during a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday morning. The briefing was addressed by PCB Director High Performance and member of the men’s national selection committee Aqib Javed, Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, and white-ball head coach Michael James Hesson.

Several players earned their maiden call-ups for a global ICC event. Skipper Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq were all named in their first-ever T20 World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan and Usman Khan have featured in at least one edition of the tournament since 2021.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will feature 20 teams. Each team will play four group-stage matches before progressing to the Super Eight and knockout stages. The tournament will run from February 7 to March 8.

As part of their preparations, Pakistan are also scheduled to play a three-match T20I series against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on January 29, 31 and February 1. The national team’s preparation camp begins today.
