The PCB is reportedly planning to inform the ICC about a black armband protest after Bangladesh’s removal from the T20 World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has reportedly prepared a second letter to the International Cricket Council over Bangladesh’s removal from the T20 World Cup. The board is planning to formally register dissatisfaction with ICC’s decision and its handling.
The PCB had earlier contacted the ICC before the Bangladesh Cricket Board deadline, supporting Bangladesh’s concerns about traveling to India. A report by Telecom Asia Sport said the PCB would now inform their further steps. Pakistan also intends to notify the ICC about a symbolic black armband protest during the tournament, if the team participates. Subject to approvals, players are expected to wear black armbands during matches.
“Pakistan Cricket Board is also due to write a letter to the ICC about the protest during the World Cup,” a source was quoted as saying.
Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi met the Pakistan Prime Minister earlier this week. Discussions covered multiple options, including a full boycott, skipping the India match, or wearing black armbands. Pakistani media also reported a proposal to dedicate any tournament wins to Bangladesh supporters.

Naqvi had previously criticised the ICC for inconsistent policies. He had stressed that Bangladesh deserved equal treatment and World Cup participation.
