Pakistan comfortably won the match against USA by a margin of 32 runs where Sahibzada Farhan top scored for the Men In Green.

Pakistan produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat the United States of America by 32 runs in the 12th match of Group A of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on February 10.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 190 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs, riding on a brilliant knock from Sahibzada Farhan and valuable contributions from the middle order. In response, the USA fought hard but were restricted to 158 for 8, falling short of the target despite a few spirited individual performances.

Pakistan had a steady start before losing Saim Ayub for 19 in the sixth over. The early setback did little to slow Sahibzada Farhan, who played a confident and aggressive innings. Farhan anchored the innings with a well-made 73 off 41 balls, striking six fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 178.04. He found good support from Babar Azam, who scored a fluent 46 off 32 deliveries, keeping the scoreboard moving through the middle overs.

Pakistan briefly stumbled with the quick dismissals of Salman Agha and Mohammad Nawaz, but Shadab Khan provided the late surge with a blistering 30 off just 12 balls, smashing four boundaries and a six. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s cameo at the end ensured Pakistan crossed the 190-run mark. For the USA, Shadley van Schalkwyk was the standout bowler, picking up four wickets for 25 runs.

USA’s Chase Faltered From The Start

Chasing 191, the USA got off to a cautious start before losing Andries Gous early. Shayan Jahangir and Shubham Ranjane then steadied the innings with attacking intent. Jahangir top-scored with 49 off 34 balls, while Ranjane impressed with a quickfire 51 off 30 deliveries, keeping the USA in the hunt during the middle overs.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers tightened the screws at crucial moments. Shadab Khan played a key role with the ball, claiming two wickets for 26 runs, including the scalps of Jahangir and USA skipper Monank Patel. Usman Tariq was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 3 for 27, while Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with timely breakthroughs.

Despite reaching 150 in the 19th over, the USA lost momentum due to regular wickets and were unable to finish strongly. Pakistan’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding ensured they closed out the match comfortably.

With this win, Pakistan strengthened their position in Group A, while the USA will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
