Rahul Dravid to Receive Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Award; Mithali Raj Also to Be Honoured | Reports

Former India captain Rahul Dravid will reportedly receive the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Naman Awards.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) will honour Rahul Dravid with the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Naman Awards. According to reports from The Indian Express, the ceremony will take place on March 15 in Delhi. The recognition celebrates Dravid’s outstanding contribution to Indian cricket.

Dravid played a key role in India’s famous Big Four batting group. The lineup also featured Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. He built a remarkable international career that lasted 16 years. Dravid represented India in 509 matches across formats. In Test cricket, he scored 13,288 runs from 164 matches at an average of 52.31. His record includes 36 centuries. In ODIs, he made 10,889 runs in 344 games with 12 centuries and 83 fifties.

Rahul Dravid ended his playing career in 2012 and soon moved into coaching. He first worked briefly as a commentator before joining India’s youth setup. Dravid led the Under-19 team to the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup title. He also mentored the India A side during that period. The former captain became head coach of the senior men’s team in 2021. During his tenure, India reached the 2023 Cricket World Cup final. The team later won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.

Former women’s team captain Mithali Raj will also receive a lifetime honour at the ceremony. Shubman Gill remains a contender for the Cricketer of the Year award. The Mumbai Cricket Association will receive recognition as the best domestic cricket association.
