Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed Pakistan Test head coach ahead of the Bangladesh series, with PCB naming a 16-man squad and support staff, including Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul.
Pakistan has appointed Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach of the men’s Test team ahead of the Bangladesh series. The former captain previously led Pakistan to the ICC U19 World Cup in 2006 and the Champions Trophy in 2017. He took charge of the red-ball setup with immediate effect.
Sarfaraz recently guided Pakistan U19 to the ACC U19 Asia Cup title and worked with Pakistan Shaheens during their series against England Lions earlier this year. The Pakistan Cricket Board further named Asad Shafiq as batting coach and Umar Gul as bowling coach.

The board also announced a 16-member squad for the series, part of the ICC World Test Championship. Shan Masood continued as captain.
The first Test will take place in Dhaka from May 8 to 12. The second Test will be held in Sylhet from May 16 to 20. The squad includes 4 uncapped players. A training camp runs from April 27 to May 1 in Karachi.
