Bowling the fifth over, he delivered a ball that beat Harry Tector’s defence and hit the stumps on the final delivery. It marked his third wicket of the innings.

Shakeel had earlier dismissed openers Tim Tector and Ross Adair in the first and third overs. He completed his spell with impressive figures of 3/33 from four overs. After removing Harry Tector, Shakeel Ahmad celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature pose, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. The celebration quickly went viral online.
Ireland surged late despite Shakeel Ahmad’s spell. Lorcan Tucker blasted 94 not out, while George Dockrell added an unbeaten 35 to lift Ireland to 235/5 in 20 overs. At the time of writing, Oman requires 150 runs from 59 balls to win.
