
Shivam Dube was named Impact Player after India’s 61-run win over Pakistan and received his medal from India’s physiotherapist Yogesh Kumar.
India all-rounder Shivam Dube won the Impact Player award after India’s 61-run win over Pakistan on Sunday. With this win, India sealed a Super 8 spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Dube played an important all-round role and also contributed in the field with two important catches.
Sivam Dube received the medal from team physiotherapist Yogesh Kumar inside the dressing room at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Kumar highlighted Dube’s finishing ability and safe fielding under pressure.
“First of all, congratulations on winning this important game. Today’s impact player is someone who is well known for hitting sixes and taking crucial catches in very important games. He’s also very well known for his diet, and in today’s game, he has played a crucial role with his batting but also with his fielding, and took two important catches,” Yogesh is heard saying in the video posted on BCCI’s social media pages.
To this, Dube credited fielding coach T. Dilip for improving his catching skills and confidence.
“It was an important match, and as he said, I played a crucial knock and I took two catches, it felt really good and thanks to Dilip Sir- he’s my fielding coach and my inspiration,” the all-rounder said.

In the match on Sunday, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs to confirm a Super 8 berth. Ishan Kishan led India to 175/7 with a fluent 77. Pakistan’s chase fell apart early as Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah reduced them to 13/3. Usman Khan scored 44, but his wicket ended the momentum. India’s bowlers applied pressure throughout and Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in 18 overs.
