South Africa built their total on two strong knocks. Quinton de Kock struck 59 off 41 balls. Ryan Rickelton smashed 61 off 28 deliveries. The pair added crucial runs before Afghanistan fought back. Captain Rashid Khan removed both batters in the 13th over. Fazalhaq Farooqi earlier dismissed Aiden Markram for 5 off 8 balls in the third over.
Afghanistan began their chase with a steady opening stand. However, the innings lost momentum after Ibrahim Zadran’s wicket. They still managed to reach 187 and level the scores, which led to the Super Overs.
