India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in their T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match on Sunday. However, a short video circulated widely, showing Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya frustrated with Kuldeep Yadav.
During the 18th over, both Kuldeep and Ishan Kishan dropped catches off Hardik Pandya’s bowling, giving Shaheen Afridi another chance. The miss frustrated Hardik, who was visibly angry. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also appeared unhappy with the lapse in the field. As players came in for the customary handshake, the angry exchange between Suryakumar and Kuldeep drew attention, with Tilak Varma watching closely. Rinku Singh stepped in and helped calm the situation.

On Monday, the skipper addressed the rumour by posting a light-hearted video with Kuldeep on X. The pair recreated the moment before breaking into smiles. Suryakumar also added a playful film reference from “Hera Pheri.” “Gussa chodh do bhai @imkuldeep18,” he wrote as the caption.

In the match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl. Salman Ali Agha struck early, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for 0 in the opening over. Ishan Kishan then counterattacked with 77 off 40 balls to lead India to 175/7 in 20 overs.
For India, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel took two wickets each as Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in 18 overs. The 61-run win sealed India’s Super 8 place, while Pakistan must beat Namibia to advance.
