Suryakumar Yadav Stresses Freedom And Trust Inside Dressing Room

Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about the team culture that has helped India achieve consistent success over the past few years. According to him, giving players freedom and allowing them to remain true to their style has been a key factor in the team’s growth.

“It’s important to understand that you’ll fail more in your career. Ups and downs will keep on coming. It’s important to respect the game. Be true to yourself. You need to understand each player. That’s what we did in the last couple of years. Give them freedom and not let them change their identities.”

Reflecting on India’s recent success in global tournaments, Suryakumar pointed out that the team has constantly evolved its style of play depending on the situation.

“We have won three ICC trophies in a row. Everything is going well. We understood how this team needs to work forward. 2025 champions trophy, we played a different brand. Now in 2026 we played differently. It’s about winning tournaments.”

The skipper added that maintaining open communication within the dressing room has been equally important for building a strong and confident team environment.

“Thanks to everyone for keeping us in their prayers. It is a special feeling. Very happy for the players the way they responded in the last 2 years. To understand their responsibility. Freedom of speech in the dressing room, that is very important.”

With another T20 World Cup title secured, India now look ahead to continuing their winning run as they prepare for future global tournaments and the possibility of competing for Olympic gold.
