UAE Name 15-Player Squad for T20 World Cup

UAE has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, led by captain Muhammad Waseem.

The United Arab Emirates has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The tournament begins on February 7th. Muhammad Waseem will captain the side. The UAE will make its third appearance at the global event. They previously exited at the group stage in 2014 and 2022.

The team qualified after defeating Japan in the Super Six stage of the Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier in Oman. Lalchand Rajput continues as head coach. Former Pakistan allrounder Yasir Arafat joins as fast bowling coach, and Stanley Chioza of Zimbabwe will handle fielding duties.

The UAE will play a two-match T20I series against Ireland before the tournament. They will also face Nepal on February 3 and Italy on February 6 in warm-up games. Their World Cup campaign starts against New Zealand on February 10 in Chennai. They are placed in Group D, which also includes Canada, Afghanistan, and South Africa.
