Former India captain Virat Kohli congratulated badminton star Saina Nehwal on her retirement. The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist ended her professional career after ongoing physical challenges. Saina explained that her body struggled to manage the sport’s intense training demands. Her last competitive appearance came at the Singapore Open in 2023.
In a post on X, Kohli acknowledged Nehwal’s career as one that elevated Indian badminton to the global stage. He also expressed pride in her achievements and long service to the sport.
