Virat Kohli Over Rohit Sharma? Michael Clarke Makes Bold Prediction Ahead of Australia ODIs

Michael Clarke believes Virat Kohli will score more runs than Rohit Sharma in India’s upcoming ODI series in Australia.

Michael Clarke predicted that Virat Kohli would finish as India’s top run-getter in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The former Australian captain said both Kohli and Rohit Sharma would be eager to deliver big performances, especially if this turns out to be their final tour Down Under. However, he feels Kohli’s middle-order position gives him an edge over Rohit, who opens in tougher conditions.

Clarke added that batting at No. 3 or 4 in Australia offers more stability, allowing Kohli to build his innings effectively.

“(Leading run-scorer) Well, in my opinion, it is one of Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli. I have just got this thing. If it’s their last trip to Australia, they will want to leave on a high. I think batting at number three or four is probably a little bit easier in Australia than opening because Rohit will open, so I am going to go with Virat Kohli, leading run-scorer,” Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.

The three-match ODI series opener in Perth on October 19 is already sold out. Fans will be eager to watch Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return after seven months, as both veterans shift full focus to ODIs.
