CAP Bans 3 Puducherry Players After Attempted Murder Allegation Involving Coach

Three Puducherry players were suspended by CAP after the alleged assault and attempted murder of the U-19 coach and barred from all cricket activities pending court decision.

The Cricket Association of Puducherry took strict action against 3 players following serious allegations. Three Puducherry players, J. Karthiyeyan, A. Aravindaraj, and S. Santhosh Kumaran, face charges of assault and attempted murder involving Under-19 coach Venkataraman.

Authorities announced immediate disciplinary measures to maintain order and reputation.

  • Suspended from all cricket activities under CAP with immediate effect
  • Barred from entering the CAP Siechem campus in Tuticorin, Pondicherry
  • Restricted from accessing any CAP-controlled premises
  • Not allowed to represent CAP in domestic or external tournaments
  • Prohibited from holding any role within CAP activities

The suspension will continue until the court completes proceedings and delivers a final verdict. Meanwhile, Puducherry last competed in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. The team finished 6th in Group D after winning 1 of 7 matches.
