Jemimah Rodrigues has been named the captain of DC-W for the WPL 2026 edition.
Delhi Capitals have appointed star Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues as their new captain for the upcoming Women’s Premier League season.
She takes over the leadership from Meg Lanning, who has moved to the UP Warriorz after the franchise’s three consecutive runner-up finishes. Rodrigues has been a key part of the team since the inaugural WPL edition in 2023.
The JSW-GMR co-owned franchise officially confirmed the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, marking a new chapter for the side.

“Jemimah has been with us since Day one, and there was never any doubt that she would one day captain the team. Beyond her on-field heroics, her infectious smile and boundless energy have made her a much-loved presence in the dressing room, and I am confident she will lead the squad exceptionally well,” said Parth Jindal, Co-owner of Delhi Capitals.
He added, “Her magical innings against Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup semi-final was truly inspiring, and we are immensely proud to have her represent Delhi Capitals and now lead the team.
