Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard Named Wildcards for MI Emirates In ILT20 2025

MI Emirates announced Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard as their wildcard signings for the upcoming ILT20 season, reuniting the pair who recently won titles together in the CPL and MLC.

MI Emirates have confirmed that West Indian stars Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard will feature as their wildcard players in the upcoming season of the International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE. The two will reunite once again, having enjoyed title-winning campaigns earlier this year with Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and MI New York in Major League Cricket (MLC).

Pooran, who also represents MI Cape Town in the SA20, will balance commitments between the overlapping tournaments. The 30-year-old, who retired from international cricket last year at the age of 29, continues to remain one of the most in-demand players in global franchise leagues.

Pooran and Pollard’s inclusion adds further Caribbean power to a MI Emirates lineup that already features Andre Fletcher, the highest buy at the inaugural ILT20 auction in October at USD 260,000. Other West Indian names in the squad include Ackeem Auguste, another auction pick, and Romario Shepherd, who was signed prior to the auction.

The ILT20’s fourth season will take place across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, beginning on December 2 and running until January 4. The tournament will feature six teams playing a total of 34 matches.

Pooran and Pollard’s addition is expected to bring both experience and firepower to the MI Emirates squad, strengthening their bid for the ILT20 2025 title.
