MS Dhoni’s ‘Sheesha Man’ Secret Revealed By Former CSK Teammate

MS Dhoni remains sidelined with injury while Rohit Sharma edges closer to a return as CSK and MI face crucial IPL 2026 fixtures.

Chennai Super Kings will be without their iconic figure MS Dhoni for the upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals on May 6 in New Delhi, as the veteran continues his recovery from a calf injury. Dhoni has not travelled with the squad and remains in Chennai, focusing on rehabilitation as he works towards regaining full fitness.

Despite his absence so far in IPL 2026, the franchise has not ruled out a return later in the season.

“He should be available at some stage,” a senior team official told Cricbuzz.

With five league games still remaining, CSK are hopeful of having their talisman back before the campaign concludes.

CSK Fixtures Ahead Amid Playoff Push

Following the Delhi Capitals fixture, Chennai Super Kings will host Lucknow Super Giants on May 10 before travelling to Lucknow for the reverse fixture on May 15. They will then face Sunrisers Hyderabad at home on May 18 and conclude their league stage against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on May 21.

Dhoni, who has not featured in any match this season, last played in the IPL on May 25, 2025, against Gujarat Titans. Currently placed sixth with four wins from nine matches, CSK remain in contention for the playoffs but will likely need at least four wins from their remaining fixtures to secure a top-four finish.

Rohit Sharma’s Return Decision Left Open

In the Mumbai Indians camp, Rohit Sharma’s availability continues to be a major talking point ahead of their clash against Lucknow Super Giants. The team management has reportedly left the final call to the experienced opener as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Rohit, who has missed five matches since April 12, returned to training with an extended batting session at the Wankhede Stadium. Despite it being a travel day for the squad, he trained alongside head coach Mahela Jayawardene, signalling positive progress.
