PCB Extends Deadline For New PSL Franchise Bids To December 24

PSL Announces 2nd Roadshow In New York Featuring Shan Masood, Salman Ali Agha

The PCB board pushes the final submission date of PSL to December 24, citing strong international investor interest.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has again extended the deadline for investors to bid on two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises.

The new final date is December 24, after being moved from December 15 to December 22. The PCB states the extension is due to significant interest from abroad and because the previous deadline fell on a weekend with bank holidays.

This move is part of a plan to expand the PSL from six to eight teams starting in 2026. The board has already renewed the contracts of five existing team owners ahead of this growth.

PCB Chair Encourages Increased Interest

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the global interest. “Witnessing growing interest from Europe, the USA, the Middle East and beyond in acquiring new HBL PSL teams, we have decided to extend the bid submission deadline by one week to 22 December 2025,” Naqvi said during the PSL roadshow.

A source confirmed the latest two-day push. “The last date for submitting initial bids is now extended by two days,” a source said as quoted by Times of India.

The player auction for the next season is scheduled for January 8, but it is unclear if this date will also be delayed. This marks the league’s second expansion since it began.

Meanwhile, the future of the Multan Sultans franchise remains uncertain after its former owner stepped down, with the PCB considering temporary management of the team.
