Naseem Shah suffered a new injury during PSL 2026 on April 23 in Karachi. The fast bowler had just returned after missing more than 2 weeks due to a side strain.

He played for Rawalpindi Pindiz against Islamabad United in their penultimate league match. The incident occurred in the 16th over while he tried to stop a boundary.

Naseem twisted his knee and fell on the ground. He could not stand up and required immediate medical attention. The support staff brought a stretcher and carried him off the field.

He did not return for the remainder of the match. The team later confirmed a knee injury and ongoing assessment. Before the injury, Naseem bowled 2 overs and conceded only 9 runs. He also picked up 1 key wicket of Mohammad Faiq.

In the match, Rawalpindi secured their first win of the season after losing 8 consecutive matches. Despite the win, the Mohammad Rizwan-led side remains out of the tournament. The team will play their final league match on April 26 against Hyderabad Kingsmen.
