B Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy after suffering a rib fracture. The injury occurred during Tamil Nadu’s Elite Group A match against Madhya Pradesh in Ahmedabad. Sudharsan was hurt while diving to complete a run in the opening round. Medical scans later confirmed a slender, undisplaced fracture to the anterior cortex of his right seventh rib.
This injury forced him to miss the following three matches and he will now sit out the rest of the tournament. The absence adds to Tamil Nadu’s inconsistent campaign this season.
Sudharsan is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Bengaluru. The program focuses on lower-body strength work with protective measures around the injured area. Upper-body conditioning will begin once pain subsides over the next 7 to 10 days.
“Sai is undertaking lower-body strength and conditioning work with appropriate protection to the injured rib to facilitate healing, and he has responded well to the program. Upper-body training will be introduced once acute symptoms settle over the next seven to ten days, following which he will be gradually progressed into a structured upper-body strength and conditioning program,” BCCI’s CoE reported.
