BCCI Shares Update Of Shreyas Iyer Being Discharged From Hospital

BCCI confirms Shreyas Iyer is stable and continuing recovery under medical supervision in Sydney.

India batter Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from the hospital in Sydney after sustaining a laceration to his spleen during the third ODI against Australia on October 25, 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official statement on Sunday confirming that Iyer is now stable and recovering well following a minor procedure to arrest internal bleeding.

Iyer suffered a blunt injury to his abdomen while fielding during the game, which led to internal bleeding caused by a tear in his spleen. The BCCI stated that the injury was immediately identified and treated with timely medical intervention. “The bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure. He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same,” the release mentioned.
