England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has created history by completing the highest cricket catch ever recorded. The feat now stands as a new Guinness World Record and has quickly spread across social media platforms. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen shared the video during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The challenge involved dropping a cricket ball from a drone positioned about 122 metres above the ground. Buttler tracked the ball carefully as it fell, judged the trajectory well and caught the catch cleanly.

The previous record stood at 119.86 metres and had been held since 2021 by Australian wicketkeeper Thimothy Shanon Jebaseelan. If officially approved, Buttler’s 122-metre catch will set a new Guinness World Record.
