WPL 2026 To Begin With Star-Studded Opening Ceremony In Navi Mumbai

WPL 2026 will open with a grand opening ceremony in Navi Mumbai featuring live performances by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez ahead of the season opener.

The fourth season of the Women’s Premier League begins on Friday, January 9, with Mumbai Indians facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match. To mark the start of WPL 2026, the Board of Control for Cricket(BCCI) in India has planned a grand opening ceremony. Popular singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and actor Jacqueline Fernandez will headline the event.

The ceremony takes place at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Proceedings start around 6:30 PM IST, with stage performances beginning at 6:45 PM. Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu is also expected to attend the launch.

Fans in India can watch the ceremony live on the Star Sports Network. Online streaming will be available through the JioCinema app and website.

After the ceremony, Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians, winners of two titles, meet Smriti Mandhana’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the 2024 champions. Matches start in Navi Mumbai before moving to Vadodara, which will host the playoffs and the final on February 5.
