Mushtaq Ahmed faced criticism after an awkward on-air exchange with Dominic Cork during the PSL broadcast, with fans calling out his remarks as disrespectful.
Pakistan Super League 2026 began this week with its 11th edition. Only 2 matches had been played when a broadcast moment drew attention. During the Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators match, a live discussion featured former Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed and former England pacer Dominic Cork.
Ahmed made disrespectful remarks during the discussion, bringing up past dismissals of Cork. Cork appeared surprised and tried to steer the conversation back to cricket. However, Mushtaq continued referencing their playing history despite Cork’s efforts to divert.
“Before I tell Zampa something, let me tell you(Dominic Cork) something. How many times have you been in my pocket? Test matches, ODIs, and first-class matches. You remember that? I have got a great memory, let me tell you that,” Ahmed responded as an answer to a question from Cork.
“But I couldn’t bat. Don’t worry about getting me out. Get that top order out,” the former England cricketer replied.

“I think you’re being modest here, Dom. You used to play for England as an all-rounder,” Ahmed continued.
Fans reacted angrily on social media platforms. Many felt the comments put Cork in an awkward position during live coverage.
